2015 Foodies Read Challenge

Foodies Read 2015 is a fun challenge in which participants read books about food, chefs, etc. or books in which food plays an important role.  I am going to predict that I will read mostly fiction but who knows, I might surprise myself.

Level One, Short-Order Cook (1-3 Books)

Reading Challenge Addict 2015

I am a proud Reading Challenge Addict.  I love to read (and want to revive my dream of having a book blog) so participating in reading challenges is a way of both having a great time reading books and holding myself accountable in reviewing books on this blog.  I am diving in head first (as I often do with projects) and going straight for the Out of This World level of 16+ reading challenges.  Which is great, because now I will have one central location to keep track of all of my challenge accomplishments (or a way to see which ones are languishing pitifully).  I am participating in the following:

2015 TBR Pile Challenge hosted by Roof Beam Reader:

Pick twelve books from the ol' TBR pile that have been there for over a year (so books published before 2014) to read.  You pre-pick your books and have two alternate choices in case you end up not liking a couple of them.

My 2015 TBR Pile Challenge Books are:

  1. Maybe This Time --Jennifer Crusie (2010)
  2. Afterglow -- Cherry Adair (2012)
  3. Caden's Vow -- Sarah McCarty (2012)
  4. Razor's Edge --Shannon K. Butcher (2011)
  5. Veil of Night -- Linda Howard (2010)
  6. Running Wild -- Linda Howard and Linda Jones (2012)
  7. Heart of Obsidian -- Nalini Singh (2013)
  8. Heart of a Hero -- Janet Chapman (2013)
  9. Heart of a Killer -- Jaci Burton (2011)
  10. The Mane Attraction -- Shelly Laurenston (2008)
  11. Vision in White -- Nora Roberts (2009)
  12. The Perfect Hope -- Nora Roberts (2012)
Alternates:
  1. Rough and Ready -- Sandra Hill (2006)
  2. Hell on Wheels -- Julie Ann Walker (2012)

2015 I Love Library Books Reading Challenge

Book Dragon's Lair is hosting the 2015 I Love Library Books Reading Challenge.  My public library is AMAZING!! I love it so much that if I don't visit it at least once a week, I feel like something is wrong.  My only problem is checking out more books than I can possibly read in three weeks.  So, I am signing up for the I Love Library Books Reading Challenge which will in no way help me solve my over-checking out issues but will instead enable my greedy-for-books ways.  That's okay... I am happy in my delusions of (reading) grandeur!  I'm starting at the Chapter Books level (12 library books) and see how far I can work my way up.

2015 What An Animal Reading Challenge

Socrates Book Reviews is hosting the 2015 What An Animal Reading Challenge VIII.  This challenge is right up my alley as I read a lot of both paranormal romances featuring shifters or magical beings such as dragons, phoenixes, etc. and I read contemporaries that often feature animals as prominent plot point either as pets or as part of the characters' professions (vet, animal shelter volunteer, etc.).  I am going to begin at level one (read at least 6 books) and see if I can work my way up from there.
