Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti

Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti

From the moment Josie laid eyes on sexy, mysterious Shane Dean, she was in love.  Their desire ignited a passionate affair, and within weeks, Shane had slipped a ring on her finger.  It seemed her every fantasy was coming true...until her new husband disappeared without a trace.  Now, two years and one broken heart later, Josie is shocked when the hospital calls: Shane has been found...at a crime scene with no memory of how he got there.

Shane can't remember the blue-eyed angel at his bedside--or who he even is--but he knows something isn't right.  His hearing is razor sharp, his physical strength incredible, and the urge to protect Josie overwhelming.  For powerful enemies hunting him, and Josie is the key to discovering why.  As Shane struggles to unravel his past, dangerous new truths to come to light.  Can he protect the only woman he's ever loved?  And can Josie trust a man she thought she knew--one who carries such a deadly secret?

I love Rebecca Zanetti's writing!  I discovered Zanetti last year and indulged in a small binge reading of her books--I completed one series and started another--before I got side-tracked.  One of the categories on the 2016 Around the Year in Books list (a Goodreads reading challenge I am participating in) is read a book by an author you discovered in 2015.  Zanetti was the first author that popped into my mind because she was my favorite discovery of 2015.  I picked up the first book in her Sin Brothers series at my local public library and dove right in.  It was fantastic!!  From the prologue to the very last page, I read this book in one sitting, flipping pages to get answers to the questions that just kept popping up...and man were there some great twists in this book that kept me hooked!

Josie is called to the hospital to pick up her husband she hasn't seen in two years.  Their meeting when he saved her from a jerk in a coffee shop led to marriage three weeks later--the first impulsive action of her life.  Two months later Shane disappeared only now showing up--but without any memories or answers for Josie.  Josie was always aware that there was a lot of important information her husband had never shared with her but as they work together to try to piece together what Shane has been up to it quickly becomes clear that Josie knew less than she even realized and that much of what she does know may not be the truth.  On top of this, there is additional stress from her job as many of the files she is working on as an accountant have mistakes in them and she can't access the man who had previously been working on them because he is at a drug rehab center.

Shane was discovered in the midst of a violent crime scene and while he doesn't remember his wife, he quickly begins to fall in love with her again.  However, the more memories that begin to filter back the more questions arise...and when he begins to recover physically he quickly realizes that he can do things that should be impossible.  His gut says to stay near Josie but events occur that make that more and more difficult.  When he and Josie become the targets of violent assaults the sense of urgency increases...then some memories surface that threaten to change everything.

I loved this book so much!! I have book two and can't wait to dive right in as there were a lot of questions in the overall story arc left open.  While I was fully satisfied with the ending to book one, I feel an almost desperate need to get back into the world to find out more.  There are four books in this series and I hope they are all as good as the first.  Another winner by Zanetti--she has yet to let me down.
